Copyright O’matic: headers for your files

A utility for inserting the same header into multiple files, with extension filters and optional subfolder processing.

Copyright O’matic options

After updating Eclipse, I found that the plug-in I used for copyright headers was no longer supported. I wrote Copyright O’matic, a small desktop application, to handle that task.

Copyright O’matic options

A repetitive task, a few options

  1. Enter the text you want to add as a header.
  2. Select the directory containing your files.
  3. Enable Subfolders to include its subdirectories.
  4. Enter the file extensions to process, separated by commas.
  5. Set Match Case to control case-sensitive matching.
  6. Run the operation with the Perform button.

The text is still your decision

The tool automates header insertion. You choose the text and the files it applies to. Reviewing the changes in version control helps check the result of an operation that affects many files.

The repository contains the implementation for anyone who wants to adapt it to their own workflow.
